Virtual Community Coaching Course
Ontario Water Polo is excited to offer member clubs the first ‘Water Polo Virtual Community Coaching Course’. This initiative is in collaboration with the Coaches Association of Ontario Virtual Super Clinic Week.
The workshop is tailored to athletes and parents with limited or basic water polo coaching experience, who work with athletes in the 9U, 11U, 13U, or recreational adult categories.
Topics covered in the virtual course include:
Understanding the level/ability of the athlete being coached;
Equipping coaches with basic tools to plan safe, fun, and effective practices;
Demonstrating how to teach basic water polo skills in a fun and inclusive way.
Course Dates/Times* (please note that participants must attend ALL sessions in order to receive certification)
Tuesday February 23rd from 6-9 pm
Thursday February 25th from 6-9 pm
Saturday February 27th from 12-3 pm
Date TBD: 1-hour on deck practical portion will also be coordinated for participants once COVID restrictions are lifted.
*All clubs will be notified if there are any changes to course times
Instructor: Dr. Evan Andrews
Fee: $25 per participant (collected through clubs)

OWP’s coaching pathway is leveraged on our relationship with clubs, and their ability to communicate coach training initiatives with their members:
Clubs will lead in the promotion and identification of course participants. OWP will be available to answer any questions clubs may have.
Clubs will submit a course participant list to OWP by Monday February 15th, 2021
OWP will invoice clubs for their participants with payment due by Friday February 19th, 2021
