Age Group National Team

The Youth National Team will be composed of athletes born between 2006 and 2008. The Junior National Team will be composed of athlete born between 2005 and 2007.

Water Polo Canada will announce 13 athletes and up to 3 alternates for each of the four teams. The selection will categorize players based on their position. Alternates will be selected and contacted on a positional basis.

Eligibility

1. Participate in their local RDC, provincially recognized program, or SNT Training Centre
2. Be a member of their Provincial Team (where applicable)
3. Be competing in the NCL or in the Senior NCL
4. NCAA athletes are exempt from 3

Selection Process

Water Polo Canada will observe athletes using the following platforms:

• RDC visits and coach recommendations
• Interprovincial Games embedded in the Senior NCL

Water Polo Canada is embedding 19U interprovincial games into the Senior NCL and will utilize these games as the primary source of scouting for the AGNT programs. Water Polo Canada will also use that opportunity to scout extra games at the NCL event. In the Eastern Conference, the games will take place during the Markham Senior NCL event on February 23-25, 2024. The exact game schedule is TBD.

Ontario Water Polo will select the athletes who will play on that weekend through our RDC and NCL scouting. We have been present at multiple events throughout the season.

Please note that the teams that are selected are not the provincial team, they are athletes who are at the top of their positional depth charts.
