Team Ontario 2024 Announcement
The OWP High Performance Team thanks you for your commitment to our provincial programming for the summer of 2024.
We had over 150 athletes eligible for Team Ontario programs this summer. We would like to thank all the nominated athletes who expressed their interest to compete for Ontario. Athletes will be placed on teams on site.
Conditioning, practice attendance, and attitude will all be factored when placing athletes on rosters.
We require athletes to arrive in Montreal by Monday, July 1st, at 3 pm. If athletes are going to travel via train, please try to coordinate arrival times in groups. We will coordinate to have a coach/chaperone/adult-aged player at the train station to help guide them to the residences. We will provide more details closer to the departure date.
Training/Event Dates
- July 1st (3:00 pm)—All athletes report to Campus1 MTL (420 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal, Quebec H3A 1B2). Evening training session TBD
- July 2nd—Practice sessions
- July 3rd-7th—National Provincial Championship Tournament
- July 7th—athletes released for pickup to their parents/guardians
Accommodations and Transport in Montreal
All staff and athletes will be staying at Campus1 MTL. Rooms are quad occupancy, and athletes will be placed in rooms by the staff. Please note that there are hundreds of water polo athletes from across Canada staying at the hotel. Breakfast is included at the residence.
The residence is located a 4-minute walk from Place-des-Arts metro station, and a ~30-minute metro ride to Parc Jean Drapeau. All games and training are taking place at Parc Jean Drapeau.
For logistics purposes, the athlete will be responsible to buy their own OPUS card/metro pass for the week. Please note that the card is between $17.50 to $29 for the week and includes unlimited metro and bus trips.
Athletes will be responsible to buy their own lunch and dinners. There are numerous restaurants around the residence. Once on site, we will make plans for athletes to pick up food.
Uniform
You will receive a third party link to purchase your Team Ontario uniform minimum requirements; these will be shipped to your house through the platform. Team Ontario suit and towel will be provided onsite in Montreal.
